Anuel AA
Anuel AA, a Puerto Rican rapper and singer, known for aggressive lyrics and his signature “BRRR” adlib, is a pioneer of Latin trap music. Born Emmanuel Gazmey Santiago on November 26, 1992, in Carolina, Puerto Rico, he began recording music at 14, and his 2016 mixtape “Real Hasta la Muerte” launched his Latin trap career. Despite a 2016 arrest on federal weapons charges and 30-month prison sentence, Anuel AA continued making music, releasing hits like “Ayer” and “Bipolar.” Collaborating with major artists and winning awards, his success has globalized Latin trap music, though he remains a controversial figure in the Latin music scene due to his violent lyrics and feuds with other rappers.
