What is Rocklahoma?
Rocklahoma is an annual three-day rock festival that takes place in Pryor, Oklahoma. It was established in 2007 by Mark Nuessle with the intention of creating a celebration of classic rock and heavy metal music. Today, Rocklahoma has become one of the largest rock festivals in the United States, drawing a crowd of over 100,000 attendees in 2018.
The festival boasts four stages where renowned rock and metal artists, including Godsmack, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, and many others, have graced the spotlight. It also serves as a platform for up-and-coming bands to showcase their talents to a vast audience, providing them with valuable exposure.
One of the best shows at Rocklahoma 2018 was by the band Ghost. We’ve been fans for a long time, but this was our first chance to see them perform live. They have a cool and unique style, mixing theater and heavy metal. Their music is catchy and kind of spooky. Finally getting to see them live was really exciting and made us like them even more.
Beyond the music, Rocklahoma offers various additional activities to enhance the overall experience. Attendees can enjoy a captivating car show, participate in a thrilling tattoo contest, and witness an awe-inspiring fireworks display. It’s a fantastic opportunity for rock enthusiasts to connect with fellow fans, immerse themselves in the music, and create lasting memories of a good time.
Rocklahoma is part of AEG Entertainment’s World’s Loudest Month concert series, solidifying its place among the many notable festivals organized by the company.
