Cody Canada and the Departed is the vehicle for one of Red Dirt’s most respected figures, Cody Canada, the Yukon, OK native who first made his name fronting Cross Canadian Ragweed. After that band’s run, Canada launched The Departed to keep his rowdy, roots-rock-tinged country vision alive.

The album HippieLovePunk captures the group’s freewheeling spirit, with songs like “Comin to Me,” “All Nighter,” and “Inbetweener” showcasing Canada’s road-worn voice and guitar-driven attack.
