Dark From Day One

Arkansas’ loudest lifers, and living proof that a band name can be a promise. Dark From Day One formed in 2006 around guitarist Natal John in central Arkansas — Little Rock on the bills, Russellville in the early rooms — and they have been building widescreen cinematic rock and metal ever since.

The current lineup is Truman Fuller on lead vocals, Natal John and Robin Nadji on guitar and backing vocals, John LeCompt on bass, and Johnathan DeGood on drums. Their sound is hook-forward and heavy: anthems like “Giants,” “Crawl,” “How Could I,” “RISE,” and “Last Chance,” the kind of songs that put them on an Edgefest bill next to Korn, Mudvayne, and Static-X.

The catalog on MoshStar runs from 2012’s The Fire Within through 2022’s Harbinger and into 2026’s A Darker World. The 2025 single “Prisoners” kicked that new chapter open — a gut-check about the memories that lock you up, and the decision to burn them down. Nearly two decades in, they are still swinging. Heavy, melodic, and stubbornly alive. This is the sound of a band that never learned how to fold.
