Halestorm

Lzzy Hale is a force of nature, and Halestorm is her arena-rock lightning. Siblings Lzzy and Arejay Hale started the band in Red Lion, Pennsylvania, in 1997; guitarist Joe Hottinger and bassist Josh Smith locked in the long-running four-piece that still tours as a unit today.

They cut their teeth the old way — bars, clubs, an RV on the road — before Atlantic put out the self-titled debut and the breakout The Strange Case Of…. The payoff was a GRAMMY for Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance for “Love Bites (So Do I),” with Lzzy becoming the first woman to win in that category, plus a later Best Rock Performance nod for “Uncomfortable.” Seven rock-radio No. 1s and a billion-plus streams later, the live show is still the point: big voice, bigger riffs, festival-mainstage volume.
