Filter is the industrial rock project founded by Richard Patrick, a former touring guitarist for Nine Inch Nails who struck out on his own to craft a sound balancing aggression with melody. Their debut spawned the abrasive breakthrough “Hey Man Nice Shot,” while later work revealed a softer side with the platinum ballad “Take a Picture” and the pummeling “The Best Things.”

Across decades and shifting lineups, Patrick has kept Filter’s blend of electronic textures and hard-rock power relevant, remaining a draw for fans of ’90s alt-rock and industrial.
